Mind the GAP! Joint actions of workers’ organizations for bridging the gender pay gap

Project summary:

Projects’ objectives, outcomes, deliverables and the chain of joint actions leading to achieving projects’ goals is constructed to contribute to strengthening the capacity of workers’ organizations to address, at EU/transnational level, challenges related to gender equality (especially gender pay gap (GPG)), action in the field of anti-discrimination, reconciliation of work and family life and tackling the employment, social and economic consequences of the COVID-19 crisis and Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, and the particular role of workers’ organisations (in this project we will focus on the gender pay gap in the time of austerity caused by COVID-19 crisis and Russia’s war). The main objectives of the project are: increased cooperation of participating countries in monitoring the EU’s pay transparency directive transposition, strengthened capabilities to use the collective bargaining by workers organizations to bridge the gender pay gap by means of online and offline trainings, enhanced worker’s organizations contribution to EU policy making (recommendations based on the works of monitoring teams, experts and workers organizations’ representatives), more effective implementation of Pay Transparency Directive in the participating EU countries as well as improved understanding of the Pay Transparency Directive in Candidate Countries, finally enhanced cooperation of workers organizations for the development of next steps and recommendations to reduce gender pay gap (improved mutual exchanged of knowledge how to tackle gender pay gap). The project brings together partners from the countries with different level of gender pay gap and different approaches in narrowing the gap. Partners represent the old European Union MS (Italy), new EU MS (Poland, Slovakia, Romania, Malta, Bulgaria), candidate countries (Serbia, Macedonia, Montenegro) and EU-level social partner organizations – ETUC and EPSU.
